 ELIGIBILITY 

The competition is open to polytechnics, community colleges and selected international academic institutions. 

  • Short film submitted has never been in any contests, or other film festivals, be it local or international, or which had been screened in public. 

  • Film entry has never won any prizes in any local or international film festival or film award. 

  • All entries MUST be of original work BY STUDENTS ONLY, not involving any hired parties 

  • ONLY entries adhering to the rules and regulations are eligible for consideration in the Malaysia Polytechnic International Short Film Festival 2019. 

 

Malaysia Polytechnic International Short Film Festival 2019 (MPISFF) Secretariat reserves the right to disqualify any Participant if MPISFF Secretariat is of the opinion that Participant did not comply with any of the Rules and Regulations stated. 

 

Participants may be required to submit proof of their eligibility. 

Each Participant in the competition shall fully and unconditionally agree to comply with and abide by these Rules and the decisions of MPISFF Secretariat and its designated judges, which decisions shall be final and binding in all respects.

REGISTRATION

Each institution can submit ONLY ONE (1) Entry. 

 

 

  • Participants MUST complete and submit the Entry/ Registration Form via Google form (link will be provided) on or before 30 AUGUST 2019. 

 

  • All entry information provided by participants must be complete, true and correct.

  • Videos uploaded after the deadline (25 OCTOBER 2019) SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED.
    -  The DVD Video and Teaser should reach MPISFF Secretariat by 30 OCTOBER 2019.

MPISFF Secretariat is not responsible or liable for (i) lost, stolen, late, incomplete,invalid,mutilated,illegible or misdirected entries or (ii) for technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to,electronic malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software; or (iii) for any error, human, technicolor otherwise.


MPISFF Secretariat reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Participants it finds
tampering with the operation or entry process of the competition, or acting in violation of these Rules or
applicable law.


MPISFF Secretariat shall not be liable for or pay any customs fees, duties, taxes or tariffs incurred by
Participant's submission.


Participants’ Entries will not be returned.

MALAYSIA POLYTECHNIC INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2019

ENTRY REQUIREMENT 

The following requirements shall apply to all Participants and their Entries: 

​

A. An Entry shall comprise of a short film of FIVE (5) to SEVEN (7) minutes in length, including opening and closing credits. 

​

B. The dialogue must be in English (with Bahasa Malaysia subtitle) 

 

C. Entries must be UPLOADED ON YOUTUBE. Person-in-charge (PIC) should then provide the LINK in the Google Form by 25 OCTOBER 2019. 

 

D. All components of the Entry must be the original creation of the students. 

 

E. Entries shall not contain any profanity, nudity, pornographic images or explicit sexual themes, graphic violence, defamatory or libelous statements or material considered illegal. Entries containing any such aspects and/or that are in violation of any applicable law or otherwise deemed by MPISFF Secretariat, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate will be disqualified. Entries which infringe on any intellectual property rights or other rights will also be disqualified in the sole discretion of MPISFF Secretariat. 

 

F. Each Entry must be submitted on group basis (maximum of 10 students).

 

G. Each Entry is an original work which is under no restriction, contractual or otherwise. 

​

H. All short films are free of any and all liens, encumbrances and claims of third parties. 

​

I. Participant acknowledges, agrees and warrants that nothing in the film infringes on any intellectual property rights including but not limited to copyrights or trademarks, or violates any person's rights of privacy or publicity and that all necessary releases, licenses and permissions have been secured by the Participants. 

 

J. The Entry shall not include confidential information, trade secrets, trademarks or copyrighted material belonging to any person or entity other than the Participant save and except where the Participant has acquired a suitable license, clearance or permission agreement (proof of which is required upon submission). 

 

K. Participants are responsible for securing necessary permissions, talent and location releases and licenses for visual and audio material contained in the submissions. Participants shall only use original music created for their Entry or music that is in the public domain. No other music may be used. 

 

L. MPISFF Secretariat shall not be responsible or liable for any loss, damages, claims costs or expenses incurred in or arising from the production or delivery of the film entries. 

 

M. Any entry that does not comply with the above requirements or any other terms herein shall be disqualified.
